Astronomy - General Resources
- The
WWW Virtual Library: Astronomy and Astrophysics is a good starting point for a
variety of astronomy-related subjects.
- The Tallahassee Astronomical Society
has a useful collection of links and information.
- Todd Gross' Web Site contains,
amongst other useful things, excellent equipment reviews.
- There are a lot of astronomical myths around, apart from those that
derived from ancient cultures. Phil Plait's Bad Astronomy page debunks some of the
most common.
- Find the date and nature of the next meteor shower .
- Paul Schlyter offers, amongst other things, an excellent tutorial on Computing Astronomical
Positions .
- Dave Johnson's astro homepages
are some of the most useful and intelligently organised astronomy pages I have
found. There is a wealth of up-to-date information here, including his on-line
astronomy mag.
- Paul Money
offers, amongst other things, a wide range of (excellent!) talks.
- Keith Burnett has an
excellent page on calculating astronomical positions.
- Colin's Observational
Astronomy Site features a monthly page on observing techniques. Also the
phases of the Moon and planetary positions, together with events in the sky.
