You Can't Have It Both Ways
- When it is confronted with the Medieval Warming Period, the AGW lobby is quick to point out that there are indications that there are some parts of the world for which there is no evidence of warming at the time, and then tries to dismiss the MWP as a local anomaly. However, when it is confronted with parts of the world for which there is no evidence of warming over the last few decades, such as the satellite (MSU) data that shows steady cooling of about 0.1ºC in the southern hemisphere for the last 20 years (World Climate Report, 2001c), it dismisses these as local anomalies.
- We are told repeatedly that the increased number and intensity of Atlantic hurricanes up to 2005 was due to global warming. Then, suddenly, in 2006 the number and intensity dropped dramatically. On 18 April 2007, a report was published in Geophysical Research Letters attributing the drop-off to guess what: yup, global warming
Make up your mind, for heaven's sake! You can't have it both ways.
